Kolkatta, Eden Gardens, Ind vd Eng – Third and last ODI (One Day International) match is being played in Eden gardens. Even though Indian has won the series by winning two matches, this match is going to be crucial for them.

England scored 321 for 8 in 50 overs. In response India gave a good fight back.  

India could have won the match. In the last over 16 runs were required and Jadhav had already hit one six and one four. But he lost his wicket after facing two dot balls and finally gave away his wicket. With the last ball as dot ball. India lost the match by 5 runs. 

Match started by Kohli winning the toss and choosing to field first. That decision seemed not that good as the English team had plans to counter attack Indian bowling. They got splendid start and got opening partnership of 98 runs. Ravindra Jadeja managed to get hold of both the openers in 17th and 19th over. Roy scored 65 runs and was bowled out by Sir. Even though England lost wickets, but they never stopped scoring runs. There was contribution from all of the players and they scored a massive 321 for 8 in 50 overs. They had a strike rate of 6.42. Their innings included 31 fours and 8 sixes with 17 extras given by Indian team.

Ashwin was wicketless today by giving 60 runs in 9 overs. Pandya had best bowling figures by taking 3 wickets in 10 over and giving only 49 runs.

Indian team didn’t get the start that they had expected. Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul could not stay at the peach for a longer duration and lost gave their wickets. Rahane was out only by scoring 1 runs and Rahul could manage only 11 runs which included 1 four and 1 six. Kohli and Yuvi had a good partnership. Kohli was out at the score of 55 runs from 63 balls which included 8 fours. Kohli lost his wicket in the 19th over.              Yuvi followed him in the 25th over by scoring 45 runs. When Dhoni and Jadhav started running between the wickets, it looked they will take India to victory. But the game looked different and Dhoni was not that quick today. He said goodbye in the 31st over at the score of 25. He scored it in 36 runs with 1 six and 1 four.

It looked like match is done, but Kedar and Pandya had something very strong in their mind. Both of these batsmen scored half centuries and brought back the hopes back that India might win. Pandya lost his wicket when India needed 27 runs of 45 balls. Jadeja came to bat along with Kedar. Jadeja was hitting well in the death overs, but was out at 10 runs. Still the hopes for India to win were alive as Jadhav was there. India still needed 27 runs off 17 balls. jadhav had scored 71 runs from 61 balls. Ashwin also loosed his wicket and India is at 297-8 in 47.5 overs.  

Jadhav picks single in the last ball of the over so that he can keep the strike in the next over. India still needs 23 runs of 12 balls. Jadhav could not help India win the match and he was out at 90 runs.
