තාරුක වයස අවුරුදු 5 දී ඇමරිකාවේ කැලිෆෝනියා වලට පිටත් වුණේ ඔහුගේ පියාට එහි සමාගමකින් ලැබුණ ඉංජිනේරු ‍රැකියාව නිසයි. එදා ඉඳන් ඔහු පාසල් අවසන් වීමෙන අනතුරුව පියාගේ සමාගමේ තමයි කාලය ගත කළේ. සුපර්ශීල්ඩ් නැමති එම සමාගම නාසා ආයතනයේ සුපර්සොනික් ජේට් නිපදවන කරන සමාගමක්.

කතාව දිග් ගැස්සෙන නිසා ඉතිරිය කෙටියෙන් කියන්නම්. අවුරුදු 8 දී සැහැල්ලු ගුවන් යානා ලයිසන් එක ගත්තා. දැන් ඔහුට වයස අවුරුදු 14 යි. එයාර්බස් 380 නැමති දැවැන්ත මගී ප්‍රවාහන ගුවන් යානාවේ ලයිසන් ඔහුට දැන් තියෙනවා. කැලිෆෝනියාවේ මිනිසුවිච් යුනිවර්සිටි එකෙන් මේ වනකොටත් ඔහුට ඩිප්ලෝමා එකක් තියෙනවා. වයස අවුරුදු 16 වෙද්දී ඔහු සිය ප්‍රථම උපාධිය B.Eng අවසන් කිරීමට නියමිතයි.
