New Delhi, Rastrapati Bhavan: The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee opened the annual ‘Udyanotsav’ of the Rashtrapati Bhavan today, February 04, 2017.

The Mughal Gardens will remain open for general public from today  to March 12, 2017 (except on Mondays which are maintenance days) between 0930 hrs to 1600 hrs. The public will also be able to visit the Spiritual Garden, Herbal Garden, Bonsai Garden and Musical Garden.

Major Attraction

Udyanotsav major attractions for this year are the special roses named after President Shree Pranab Mukherjee and his wife Suvra Mukherjee. It is for the first time a special rose is named after a President. The flower rose is named after President Mukherjee is yellow in color and the one in named of his wife is pink-purple in color. The special roses are developed by plant breeders from Pushpanjali rose nursery, Jakpur, West Bengal.

How to visit and other conditions.

There will be no online booking for visiting the Gardens.

Entry and exit for the common public will be from Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, close to where North Avenue meets Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Public who are visiting are requested not to bring any water bottles,  handbags/ladies purses, briefcases , cameras, umbrellas, radios/transistors,, eatables, boxes etc. Any such articles, if any, will have to be deposited at the entry point.

Arrangement of drinking water, toilets, rest rooms for senior citizens, first aid / medical facility, women and children will be provided for public visiting the Gardens.

The famous Mughal Gardens will be open exclusively on March 10, 2017 to only special category of visitors viz farmers, defence/para-military forces , differently abled persons, and Delhi Police personnel from 9:30 AM  to 4 PM. Entry and exit will be through Gate No. 35.

For visually impaired people, The Tactile Garden will be open on March 10, 2017 from 11 AM hrs. To 4PM. Entry and exit will be from Gate No. 12, situated on Church Road (next to the North Avenue).
