A packaging machine, with over 36,000 packed strips, 240 kilograms of unpacked tablets and 39 sacks of raw material were recovered from the illegal manufacturing unit.
India, Uttar Pradesh: it has become quite often that Uttar Pradesh has been caught for several wrong reasons. In the latest turn of events the UP health authorities were in for a shock, They raided certain premises and it was revealed that a huge cache of fake medicines were in circulation throughout Uttar Pradesh.
This has resulted in the seizure of fake medicines worth Rs 6 crore.
Gong by the news by hindustantimes, every person in Uttar Pradesh and whole of India should think twice before they use any medicine. In UP, the medicine trade has an annual turnover of ₹17,000 crore and officials say 1.5% of this could be from fake drugs.
Normally in medicines the medical stores offer a discount of 5 percent to 10 percent. The profit in retail medicine market is around 16 to 20 percent. The authorities came to know about this racket when they found discount of upto 30 percent in certain medicines.
Following which they planned a joint operation and in over six weeks they caught the culprits. A chemist in Amroha was the first link in the illegal trade of fake medicines. As per reports the mastermind in this was Gaurav Tyagi, who supplied medicines across various parts of Uttar Pradesh. The FSDA team is yet to arrest the alleged mastermind who had linked the entire business at different places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
